GAIA AP Regional meeting day 3: Plastics session
Plastics Program will discuss the importance of adopting a Global Plastics Treaty in the resumption of the 5th UN Environmental Assembly (UNEA 5.2). Plastics is at the root of each of the UN Environment Program’s three planetary crises: climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. A global plastics treaty will help address this transboundary problem that requires multi-level cooperation. In this thematic discussion, we will dive into how this international development translates to the lives of our members and communities on the ground. “Relevance of a Global Treaty on Plastics Pollution for Communities and Grassroots Action”.
